Royal Mersey Yacht Club

The Royal Mersey Yacht Club was founded in 1844 in the reign of Queen Victoria who was its first patron. For over 160 years the Club has promoted one design keel boat racing on the River Mersey and adjoining waters.


Nobby Owners Association

The Nobby Owners Association was formed in 1987 by a group of Nobby enthusiasts, it was set up to encourage the restoration of traditional Morcambe Bay Prawner boats, (traditional wooden fishing boats dating back from the late 1800's).


Old Gaffers Association

The aims of the Old Gaffers Association are to preserve interest in and encourage development of Gaff Rig, and to participate in the maintenance of our Maritime Heritage. Membership of the Association is open to all who are interested in sailing, building; restoring or simply admiring gaff rigged and other traditionally rigged craft. There is no requirement for members to be boat owners.


West Cheshire Sailing Club

The West Cheshire Sailing Club was founded in 1892 and members regularly sail on the River Mersey and New Brighton Marine Lake. Two famous members of the club were Sir Earnest marples MP, who planned the motorways and built the M1, and Lieutenant Commander Ian Frazer RN VC, who was awarded the VC for his part in the attack on Japanese warships in Singapore Harbour in 1945.


West Kirby Sailing Club

The West Kirby Sailing Club was formed in 1901 and has grown into one of the largest sailing clubs in the UK. The Club magazine, Seldom Seen, is published three times a year, named after a buoy in the Dee Estuary!
